Mountain experiences on foot in Ottsjö
The village is beautifully situated on the southern slope down to the lake, Ottsjön, with views across to Ottfjället and mountains further south.
The local shop, ICA Ottsjöbua, is the heart of the village. It sells everything from locally produced cheeses to winter boots, and you can refuel your car. It also provides local services for the state off-licence, a pharmacy and the post office. In addition, it is the village tourist office and has apartment and cabin rentals.
The village also has Fjellpuls, where you can hire gravel bikes.
The marina has some great bathing spots.
This summer, a new car park for the trail is being built in the west of the village. However, if you are planning on walking the Platåleden route, the upper car park is best.
