Mountain experiences on foot in Ottsjö

The village is beautifully situated on the southern slope down to the lake, Ottsjön, with views across to Ottfjället and mountains further south.
The local shop, ICA Ottsjöbua, is the heart of the village. It sells everything from locally produced cheeses to winter boots, and you can refuel your car. It also provides local services for the state off-licence, a pharmacy and the post office. In addition, it is the village tourist office and has apartment and cabin rentals.
Ottsjö has several car parks/trail hubs; in the guide we refer to the one opposite the shop. However, if you are planning to walk Platåleden (route 260), it is better to park at the upper trail hub.
Ottsjö Byvandring (route 261) is great if you want to find out more about the village and the local flora and fauna.
