An easy daytrip with history and bathing

Start at Vallbo’s exercise trail and follow the old road northward. Enjoy the babbling waters of Sågbäcken before crossing the road to Vålådalen and passing “Post-Johans torg”. The sandy beach at Ottsjön is perfect for bathing and playing games and turns into Sweden’s longest natural ford. Walk back and turn left towards Fångåmon. Cross the road again, and then the bridge
over the roaring river Fangån. Turn right and then right again towards Bäverkroken. The path follows Fangån through beautiful old-growth forest. Bäverkroken is a perfect spot for a picnic, but has a tragic history that you can read about on the spot. You can take a refreshing dip in the river before crossing the suspension bridge. Lovely forest paths take you back to Vallbo. You can also start the route in Fångåmon, or walk it anticlockwise. Pedestrians share this
route with cyclists.
