An easy daytrip with history and bathing
Park in the car park west of the church in Vallbo. From there, walk along the gravel road to Vallbo’s exercise trail and then follow the old road northward. Enjoy the babbling water of Sågbäcken and the scents of the forest, before crossing the road to Vålådalen and arriving at “Post-Johans torg”. From the forest road, turn left onto a plankway towards Ottsjön. The sandy beach at Ottsjön turns into Sweden’s longest natural ford.
Walk back and turn left towards Fångåmon. Cross the road again, continue on the gravel road and then across the bridge over the waters of Fangån. Turn right and then right again towards Bäverkroken. The path follows Fangån through beautiful old-growth forest.
Bäverkroken is a perfect picnic spot. Lovely forest paths take you back to Vallbo.
