Moose spotting

The skiing is easy from where you start at Trillevallens Högfjällshotell or at the cross-country parking to Bergstedt’s cabins. From here, there’s a gentle downhill to Nyvallen. Long ago, this was where the Ottsjö farmers’ animals grazed in the summer.

At Nyvallen, take a sharp right up the hill to Torget. Take it easy on the 1.6 km uphill and see if you can spot any moose. You should be able to see their tracks, and those of other animals. There’s easy skiing from Torget back to Högfjällshotell. If you have a picnic with you, you can make a short detour from Torget to the wind shelter at Ludumyrarna.
