Platåleden

A sunny outing with great views

This route starts at the trail hub west of Ottsjö Fjällby and begins with an 800 m long climb. It may seem hard, but it’s worth it. Ski through Språngsdalen and see the fantastic snow formations, and after 1 km you reach a wind shelter and the Platåkåtan hut. Foropening hours call + 46 70 295 95 66.

Turn left and glide out onto the plateau that stretches towards the horizon. There is an outstanding view of the mountains, with Ottfjället in the centre.

After another 2.5 km, you reach the next wind shelter. Turn left and continue south. Here the trail goes gently downhill over open mountainside and into the forest. Once in the forest the downhill gets steeper, so concentration is needed on this last, relatively steep section.
