Vålådalsfyrkanten i Vålådalens naturreservat
Venture further with a map and compass
The Vålådalen Nature Reserve offers varied walking and has cabins for overnight stays. The old-growth forest in this beautiful valley is framed by open mountainsides. The distances between the cabins at Lunndörren, Vålåstugan are Stensdalen are 12–16 km. A warden is there to welcome you, show you how everything works and take your payment, unless you paid in advance. You chop wood, fetch water, wash up and clean up after yourself. There are pillows and duvets, so all you need is a travel sheet. You can
choose to walk with a lighter rucksack and buy some provisions at the cabins. Lunndörren and Stensdalen even have a sauna you can enjoy. Day visits to the cabins are free for members of the Swedish Tourist Association. There is also a cabin at Anariset, and Vallbo is also a possible starting point.
