Whole or half day with magical views

Walk from Trillevallens högfjällshotell towards the ski lifts and turn left towards Ytterstvallen. This is a recreated shieling trail through old-growth forest with bearded trees. At Yttersvallen shieling, turn right onto the southern slopes of Välliste, where you may find cloudberries on the marshes in the late summer. On the open mountainside, turn right to the Toppstugan hut. It is hard to find a more beautiful view of the mountains than this.

As you continue across the top to the cabin, Norra stugan, you can delight in beautiful alpine flowers at the end of June and all through July – and the view across Åredalen is pretty good too. Short sections can be a little stony. The trail from Norra stugan, down through the birch forest, is wet in places, but you’ll soon be back at Trillevallen.

If you want to take the shortest route back from the cabin, take the path down via the ski slope.
